Teresa Ging Built a Sweet Empire with Strategy, Purpose, and 200 Flavors
Founder, Sugar Bliss📍 United States| LinkedIn

In 2007, Teresa Ging left the corporate finance world to pursue a dream that began with cupcakes and a spark of purpose. After being passed over for a promotion, despite outperforming her peers, Teresa had a defining moment. She watched a friend bake, and it ignited a vision. That same day, she made a decision: she would build something of her own. She enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, trained professionally, and returned to Chicago to launch Sugar Bliss.
Nearly 18 years later, Sugar Bliss has grown from a single storefront to a nationally recognized baked goods brand with over 200 products and retail placement in more than 100 stores. Teresa steered her company through the 2009 recession and the COVID-19 pandemic, emerging stronger each time. Sugar Bliss now boasts foodservice partnerships with the Chicago Bears, McCormick Place, and Chicago O’Hare Airport and continues to ship worldwide.
But Teresa’s impact isn’t just in sales or scale. A proud woman and minority business owner, she launched a scholarship program to support aspiring women and minority entrepreneurs, awarding more than 30 scholarships to date. “Sugar Bliss is more than a bakery,” Teresa says. “It’s a story of grit, growth, and unstoppable determination.”
